Unfortunately, conventional laboratory ranges are designed to identify and diagnose disease states and pathology. People often fall within these ranges but continue to have ill health and yet are told they are “normal”. All too often labs are overlooked or briefly assessed without thought of functional and optimal values. Dr. Hasel is trained to interpret standard lab tests in an in-depth manner. For example, although you may fall within the “normal” range, she takes into account whether it is on the low or high end of normal. By recognizing patterns that signal imbalances, she is better able to devise an appropriate treatment plan for you.
Food Allergy & Sensitivity Testing
Utilizing a blood draw or finger-stick test, both IGG (delayed-type) and IGE (immediate-type) antibodies can be measured. This reflects the production of antibodies in the body in response to ingested to foods. See Resources for list of conditions commonly caused or triggered by food allergy.
Salivary Sex Hormone Testing
Saliva is the most reliable medium for measuring sex and adrenal hormones including estrogens, testosterone, progesterone, DHEAS. Saliva testing measures hormones available to your bodily tissues. Testing hormones in the blood measures bound-up hormones, not available to tissues and considered inactive.
Nutritional Physical Exam & Nutritional Counseling
A thorough physical exam can reveal numerous nutritional deficiencies. Dr. Hasel has advanced training in assessment of need and use of naturally occurring nutrients (vitamins, dietary minerals, proteins, antioxidants, amino acids, hormones, dietary fiber, fatty acids and other nutrients). Focus is also on diets for specific health conditions, allergen avoidance, metabolic needs, etc.
Weight Loss Program
Two different weight loss programs are offered here at the office to cure type 2 diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and elevated cholesterol. One is strictly diet-based and the other utilizes safe, physician-supervised hormone therapy for rapid weight reduction. Often these are combined not only for rapid weight loss but also to teach effective weight maintenance through eating correct proportions, food choices, and promoting self-responsibility.
Heavy Metal Toxicity & Chelation
Analysis of toxic metals in the urine after the administration of a metal chelating agent is an objective way to evaluate the accumulation of toxic metals in the body. Porphyrin testing is also used. Chronic low level exposure can result in a significant toxicity. With no known physiological function, heavy metals including lead, cadmium, mercury and others- adversely affect virtually every organ system and disrupt the homeostasis of healthy nutrients.
Hands on treatments using Manipulations, Visceral Manipulation, Craniosacral Therapy, Kinesio Taping, and Soft Tissue work to rebalance the body and reduce tension that causes pain.
Adrenal Stress Index
Created in 1989 to evaluate cortisol production throughout the day generated in response to real life stress. Saliva test assesses fatigue of adrenals, adaption, and deterioration. Cortisol is implicated in hormone imbalances, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic allergies, autoimmune conditions, depression, and ADD.
Parasite & Candida Testing
Stool testing detects parasites, candida, offending bacteria, digestive efficiency, markers of irritation, inflammation, and immunity. Indicated for irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, food allergies, abdominal bloating, chronic fatigue, ADD.
Organic compounds found in the urine are intermediate markers of virtually all pathways of cellular metabolism. Derived from dietary proteins, carbohydrates and fats, these compounds can indicate vitamin/mineral deficiencies, inhibited or slow metabolism, impaired enzyme function, gut bacterial overgrowth, and the degree of exposure to environmental toxins.
Neurotransmitter levels via a single urine specimen has provided great insights into the biochemical cause of anxiety, panic disorder, ADD, depression, insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and migraines. Targeted amino acid therapy and neurotransmitter repletion has been an effective option for many of my patients by balancing the calming and stimulating nature of these brain chemicals. Often urine testing is not necessary to initiate or even manage neurotransmitter balancing.
Environmental Pollutants Panel
Simple urine test measures metabolites of persistent organic pollutants common to our environment which contribute to a host of health problems: xylene, toluene, benzene, trimethylbenzene, styrene, phthlalates, parabens.
Drinking Water Analysis
Collect a sample of your home’s drinking water to test for 17 metals, including heavy metals plus fluoride and pH.
